This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to manage the education of horses so they can adapt to a range of program environments and handling situations. It focuses on planning, monitoring and designing education programs for individual horses to suit riding program needs and client safety.

This unit applies to those working as horse riding guides or instructors who are also responsible for the training and wellbeing of horses. This may include those working for private horse riding companies or group leaders in school outdoor education programs.

Identify and use appropriate gear and techniques to modify behaviour of horses according to organisational policies and procedures. 2.4. Supervise and monitor horse's progress in consultation with appropriate personnel. 2.5. Evaluate and record progress of the horse at various stages of the education phase. 2.6. Make adjustments to the training program as required. |
