Description

This skill set addresses the skills and knowledge for quarry laboratory supervisors to monitor construction materials testing in laboratories and provide accurate and meaningful reports for customers to make sound decisions. The work required in this skill set relates to National Association of Testing Authorities’ (NATA) supervision requirements for ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation of quarry laboratories but this skill set does not provide the accreditation.

Pathways Information

The units provide credit towards RII40115 Certificate IV in Surface Extraction Operations and other qualifications that allow for selection of these units.

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this skill set at the time of publication.

Skill Set Requirements

Successful completion of three (3) units of competency listed below:

  • RIISTD401 Monitor quarry laboratory operations and the quality of results
  • MSL952001 Collect routine site samples
  • MSL973022 Conduct laboratory-based acceptance tests for construction materials.
