Qualification Description

This qualification applies to managers, leaders, technical experts, specialist advisors or others who exercise strategic, leadership and/or change management roles across an organisation implementing competitive systems and practices.

This qualification provides extensive specialised skills and knowledge in competitive systems and practices with an emphasis on leadership, alignment of organisational strategy and values with competitive systems and practices, developing the organisational culture and systems and value chain liaison. This qualification can also integrate high level technical expertise.

‘Competitive Systems and Practices’ is not an approach or system in its own right. It is a broad collective term intended to encompass the flexible application of various tools, techniques, systems and approaches that have synergies around continuous improvement, efficiency, business improvement or similar goals. Examples include Lean, Agile, Kaizen and Six Sigma.

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

Entry Requirements

Entrants to the MSS80422 Graduate Diploma of Competitive Systems and Practices are required to have one or more of the following:

  • Certificate IV or higher qualification in competitive systems and practices, management, technical or related discipline
  • experience in competitive systems and practices at the supervisor, manager or technical specialist level or above
  • experience in leadership and management.

Packaging Rules

Total number of units = 8 

  • 8  elective units, as specified below:
  • at least 4  units from Group A
  • the balance of 4 units may be selected as follows:
  • up to 4  units from Groups A and/or B
  • up to 3  units from Group C
  • up to 1  unit from any endorsed Training Package qualification or accredited course at Graduate Certificate level or above.

All electives chosen must contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.
