Qualification Description
This qualification has been designed to provide a package of broad and flexible competencies reflecting the workplace responsibilities to trouble-shoot, repair and maintain electronic and mechanical components of simulators used in training (for example pilot training). Skills involve the use of specialized tools, test equipment, built-in diagnostic equipment and technical data to isolate and locate faulty components or system malfunctions. It qualifies individuals who apply a broad range of specialised knowledge and skills in varied contexts to undertake skilled work in simulator maintenance. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication. |
Packaging Rules
14 units of competency are required for this qualification:
Choose a minimum of 5 elective units from the list below, of which at least 4 must be taken from Group A. Choose the remaining 2 elective units from either the list below, or from elsewhere within this training package, or from another endorsed training package, or from an accredited course. All elective units selected from outside this qualification must reflect the occupational and learning outcomes of this AQF qualification level. Seek further advice on selecting imported units of competency in the DEF Implementation Guide. Elective units selected must not duplicate content already covered by other units in this qualification. Where imported units are selected, care must be taken to ensure that all prerequisite units specified are complied with. |
