Qualification Description
This qualification reflects the role of Chief Remote Pilots (CRPs) performing operational management duties in support of Remote Pilot Aircraft System (RPAS) operations. This qualification is intended for remote pilots who wish to enter the CRP role; those who are currently holding the position of, or acting in the position of CRP; those who are responsible for remote flight operations management within an organisation; or those looking to enhance their level of understanding of flight operations and operational risk. CRP duties include applying technical and non-technical aviation skills and knowledge in support of a wide range of operational tasks, including risk management, crew coordination and training. Individuals working at this level will apply knowledge and skills to demonstrate autonomy and judgement in a defined responsibility role in known or changing contexts within broad but established parameters. This qualification is not currently a licensing requirement (by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA)) to become a CRP, however, it will provide the skills and knowledge to perform the role. Entry Requirements
Individuals undertaking this qualification must have the CASA Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) or AVI30419 Certificate III in Aviation (Remote Pilot) or its successor. In addition, individuals must have an Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC). |
Packaging Rules
A total of 12 units of competency , comprising: 9 core units listed below, plus: 3 general elective units from the general elective units listed below. Up to 2 of the general elective units may be selected from any relevant nationally endorsed Training Package or accredited course. The general elective units must contribute to the vocational outcomes of the qualification. Where imported units are selected, care must be taken to ensure that all prerequisite units specified are complied with. |
