Section 27(1) of the Vocational Education and Training Act WA 1996 

The course is intended to develop or enhance the leadership and employability skills of clients seeking to enter or re-enter the workforce, proceed to further study or develop their mentoring skills for managerial/supervisory work. The flexible nature of the course means they can be customised to suit clients across a range of industry areas such as business, retail, community services, government and hospitality and tourism. Award of the qualification requires completion of a set of core units developed for each course or imported from the BSB Business Services Training Package, and electives to be selected from any current qualification at the same AQF level. The units developed for the courses broadly cover personal development, team projects, workplace effectiveness, diversity, leadership and mentoring. While the qualification form a pathway into one another, the only formal entry requirement is for the Certificate IV in Leadership and Mentoring, which requires either completion the Certificate III in Leadership, completion of a comparable Certificate III qualification or current work related experience.
